PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions and Support

What is PBIS?

Wohlwend Elementary practices school-wide positive behavior interventions and support (PBIS).  PBIS is Wohlwend's Universal Process for teaching expected social and behavioral skills to students.  PBIS teaches the same expectations and routines to all students from pre-school to fifth grade.

Why PBIS?

Wohlwend has a diverse student population.  Developing positive social behavior for children of all backgrounds, cultural upbringings, and family situations is a primary focus of our staff.  We have found that developing strong partnerships between teachers, parents and the community provides a nurturing environment where students grow academically, socially and emotionally as they develop into life-long learners.  PBIS is dedicated to supporting students and staff through the Wildcat Way.  We strongly believe that providing positive reinforcement of Wildcat Way behaviors results in increased intrinsic motivation.
